the stories we wear

Inspired by my relationship with my daughter Greta through the lens of buying and wearing clothes, the stories we wear grapples with the tension between shared experience and individual expression, between the desire to “put yourself into someone else’s shoes” and the impossibility of doing so. Through paper cutouts, interviews, and stop-motion animation, the stories we wear interweaves themes of body image, aging, and the tension between hiding and revealing one’s body and character through clothes. The stories we wear is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Still in production.
